Tampa Bay Lightning | Hockey Development Programs

The Tampa Bay Lightning is excited to welcome back our Youth Ball Hockey league at the Lightning Made Training Center for a Summer season!

 

Lightning Made Training Center is located at 6910 Asphalt Ave. Unit B Tampa, FL 33614. 

 

The league runs for 8 weeks and starts on Sunday, April 16th. This program is for children of all skill levels, ages 5-13 years old. The league is divided into 7 and under (5-7 year old's), 10 and under, and 13 and under! If you feel your child is advanced for their age group you can sign-up for the division above.

 

Dates (Sundays):

• April 16th 
• April 23rd
• April 30th
• May 7th
• May 21st
• June 4th 
• June 11th
• June 25th

 

Divisions/Times:

• 7U (5-7 years old) - 8:30-9:30am 
• 7U (5-7 years old) - 9:45-10:45am
• BREAK BETWEEN 7U & 10U
• 10U division - 12:00-1:00pm
• 10U division - 1:15-2:15pm
• 13U division - 2:30-3:30pm
• 13U division - 3:45-4:45pm

4 teams per division. Each division has two different game times. Teams will play at both times slots throughout the season to allow for all teams to play against each other.

 

Cost:

• $115

 

During the season your child will learn the fundamentals of hockey, it's rules, and how to work as a team. Athletes in this program will participate in different drills that will enhance their skill level and ability. 

 

Our main goals for our leagues is to give the kids a fun, safe environment to learn the game of hockey. Increase players skills, increase their understanding of the game (positioning, rules, hockey I.Q.), and emphasis teamwork and sportsmanship. 

 

The league format will be 25 minutes skills/drills and a 30 minute game.

 

Players will only need a stick to participate! If you do not have your own stick, you can purchase one for $15. No other equipment is necessary.

 

This season we will be looking for volunteer coaches to coach each team. If you are interested in this opportunity please select "Yes" you are interested in coaching when completing the registration. Also to become a coach this season we will require each volunteer coach to complete a USA Ball Hockey Coaches Certification.
